Fijian Drua tighthead prop Samuela Tawake scored the most important try of his life when he married Siulia Alvina Tanya Sani Tago at Boatshed at Vuda Marina yesterday. Tawake and Siulia exchanged vows in front of family members and friends.

The couple first met four years ago and it was love at first sight.

“He is very friendly, always puts his family first and has a big heart. I first met him when he was playing with Palmerston North rugby team,” said Siulia.

Tago, who is of Samoan and Tokelauan heritage, is a registered nurse in Auckland, New Zealand and is originally from Vavau, Samoa.

“We are looking forward to this new journey and we are wanting to plan a family and the feeling is surreal and just seeing everyone here and enjoying the day with family and friends.”

Tawake says he was looking forward to what the future holds for them.

He is part of the Flying Fijians extended squad for the Rugby World Cup.
