A total of 145 students were affected by the recent fire at Ratu Kadavulevu School in Tailevu last week.
The fire engulfed the Sukuna House dormitory, leaving some students without their boarding kits.
Teachers had noticed excessive smoke emanating from the roof of the dormitory around midday on June 13, 2023 after the school’s midday prayer.
According to the Ministry of Education statement, all students, teachers and staff members were safe and were reported uninjured.
A ministry statement highlighted the affected students would continue with regular classes.
A total of 29 Year 9 students were moved at separate building, while 38 students of Year 10 were accommodated at the Degei dormitory.
A total of 59 Year 11 students were accommodated at the top floor of Cakau House.
The Education Minister, Aseri Radrodro visited the school after returning from Ovalau last week.
Mr Radrodro in a ministerial statement assured parents and guardians that the ministry would work closely with the school to provide the necessary support for students affected.
