The Fiji National University (FNU) remains committed to providing our students with a holistic learning experience that allows students to develop academically, personally, intellectually, and morally.
FNU Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba said this was aligned to the University’s practice of placing students at the core of its learning, teaching, and campus life activities.
The AVC highlighted that overall physical and mental well-being contributed to a student’s success.
“To this end, the University is investing in providing a more enhanced dining experience for our students through improved infrastructure and meal options,” Professor Nabobo-Baba said.
“We have begun work on the Natabua and nursing campuses dining areas and are looking into a variety of options to provide students with affordable and healthy meals.”
“The Council will work closely with the University’s senior management to further develop other campuses so that students receive the same access to these services.”
Professor Nabobo-Baba added that healthier meals would provide students with the required energy to fuel cognitive skills such as learning, understanding, awareness and reasoning.
“Students who maintain a healthy diet have improved memory and focus,” she said.
“This also helps in the national fight against non-communicable diseases.”
