Swire Shipping Fijian Drua skipper Tevita Ikanivere says they are ready for whatever the Hurricanes throw their way this afternoon at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

Ikanivere said the team vibes were good and they were looking forward to the match.

“The vibes are good, and I know the boys are looking forward to coming out and playing tomorrow,” said Ikanivere.

“The plan is always the same, to come out and do our best to win. All teams are tough in this competition; everyone is the same so it will be a tough match.”

The Blues exposed the Drua’s scrum last week which needed improvement and Ikanivere said they had worked on it throughout the week.

“We make mistakes every week and we’ve been working on that,” he said.

“We needed work on our exits previously and we got that part of our game right last week. Our penalties in the scrum came from technical stuff so we went back to the drawing board and what to expect from the Hurricanes. We know what went wrong and how we can counter it so hopefully we come out and show it to the fans.”

He also urged fans to turn out in numbers and support them as they take on the Wellington-based Super Rugby side for the first time on home soil.

“I hope everyone comes out in numbers tomorrow (today) to support us,” said Ikanivere.

“Please come out in numbers and fill out the crowd so we can show the Hurricanes what Suva is all about.”
