Education Assistant Minister, Iliesa Vanawalu who officially closed the zone competition said that not every student excels academically, but they have talents in other areas.
“Students, despite the fact that you all attend different schools, competitions such as this is a platform where you can develop friendships which can last long despite the differences in the various colours you are representing,” Mr Vanawalu said.
“You must respect other athletes within your school as well as from other schools.
“Social interactions through sports with your friends provide you highly valued security, belonging and ultimate happiness.
“It’s about having fun, discovering new sporting abilities, developing teamwork and having an opportunity to display self-assurance, endurance, enthusiasm and good sportsmanship.”
The best female athlete award went to Suva Grammar School’s Chloe David who won three gold during the competition.
