The Fiji Rugby Union has joined hands with a local retailing sports outlet to be its official sport equipment supplier for two years.
Under the deal, JR White and Company PTE Ltd will provide sport equipment to outfit the national teams with its products.
FRU acting chief executive Sale Sorovaki extended his gratitude to JR White and Company for supporting their teams.
“We are so humbled by JR White and Company for their support in such challenging times,” Sorovaki said.
“This sponsorship will not only benefit the national teams but also our member unions who will be able to purchase their sporting equipment at a discounted price.”
He added that apart from the Fiji Airways Fiji and Fijiana 7s teams, other national teams such as the Flying Fijians, the Fijiana, Fijian Warriors, Fijian Under-20 and the Fijiana Drua will be provided with the sporting equipment.
“Sponsors are crucial for our objectives both on and off the field and it is extremely great to rope in a popular company such as JR White to supply the best equipment to our world-class teams,” Sorovaki added.
JR White director Niraj Prasad said they were happy to support Fiji Rugby.
“Rugby is our national sport and we are delighted to be the official sporting equipment supplier for the national teams and the FRU member unions (provincial teams) who also benefit from this deal,” Prasad said.
“It brings us great joy when Fiji wins in rugby and it’s important that Fiji Rugby has the necessary resources to be able to support teams and their entire rugby affiliates on the national and international stage.”
