The Suva Warriors side took out the Easter Cricket Championship title defeating Ono-i-Lau in the final by 11 runs at Albert Park in Suva yesterday.
The Warriors batted first and scored 183 runs losing seven wickets in 20 overs.
Peni Volavola scored 74 runs from 44 balls while Kau Talebula contributed 41 runs to the total.
In reply, Ono-i-Lau managed 172 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs.
Mesake Digitaki of Ono-i-Lau managed 21 runs while Aisake Lagilagi scored 21 runs.
Captain Seru Tupou said they were pressured in the last few minutes of the game when Ono-i-Lau started to pull in.
He said it was all about controlling their mentality and keeping their cool.
“Majority of these players have represented Fiji and they know what to expect,” Tupou said.
“Hats off to Ono-i-Lau for the tough game. We had prepared well and the players executed the game plan.”
Suva Warriors looks forward to challenge the association cup against Lakeba.
