Let’s love not just our immediate neighbours, but everyone in Fiji.

This is the Easter message from Deputy Prime Minister and Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) leader Viliame Gavoka. He said this was part of Jesus Christ’s teaching.

“As we celebrate Easter, we remember the Cross, without which, there is no Christianity,” Mr Gavoka said.

“The ultimate sacrifice for our sins and the substitution for punishment and eternal separation from God was made on the cross.

“We are witnesses to God’s love and for Fiji, we celebrate that we once were hostages to darkness, but are now enlightened and thriving under the power of His love.

“We are a fortunate country that we worship God through His son Jesus Christ who carried his cross and died on it for our salvation.”

Mr Gavoka said the power of salvation was released, and God’s love touched every country on the planet when Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross.
