A Malaysian firm has shown interest in Fiji’s electronic vehicles sector and had a meeting with the Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, SMEs and Communications permanent secretary Shaheen Ali to discuss their investment proposal.
According to the ministry the award winning firm — Energreen Tech and Evwave — are distributors of Pilot-branded EV chargers and collaborates with ITMAX Bhd on EV charging and other green solutions.
Mr Ali met green-centric charge point operators and urban green infrastructure specialists Energreen Tech and EVWave yesterday.
According to the ministry Energreen Tech and Evwave accept flexible payment options such as credit cards and mobile app payments, and look forward to collaborating with the Fiji Government to enable EV Chargers to make Electric Vehicles available in Fiji and to achieve energy security, resilience and sustainability.
The ministry also highlighted that as champions of the Sustainable Development Goals 5, 7, and 12 – the interest of the coalition Government to decarbonise Fiji’s transportation system, particularly land and sea transportation would be an opportune collaboration for Fiji to increase Fiji’s charging stations with the assistance of Energreen Tech and Evwave.
