Winger Vitalina Naikore has stunned thousands with her speed and scintillating performance on the field.

However, the Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua star donned a different uniform yesterday after completing 10 weeks of gruelling training to earn her place as one of the newest officers recruited to join the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS)

She was one of nine women who were part of the passing-out parade.

Naikore will miss out on this week’s clash against ACT Brumbies at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park today.

However, she has urged fans to turn up in numbers to support the girls on the journey to defend the Super W title.

“First of all, I just want to thank the Lord for this opportunity to be part of this corrections service and for 10 weeks it’s been tough,” she shared.

“We cried, everything has been tough, some of us went home, but today I am very happy. The hard work has paid off. I really thank the Lord for giving me this courage.

“I won’t be part of that game, but I want to wish the team all the best for the game tomorrow (today). I congratulate the girls who have made the squad for the game and I will be joining them again next week.”

For Naikore, the chance to join FCS is an added security for her future, as she hopes to continue supporting her family in Bua as the eldest daughter. After the passing-out parade at Naboro Corrections Facility, Naikore said she would head to Nadi to support her teammates.

“To the public, I encourage them to come out and support our team, because they won the Super W last year. “This year, it’s going to be tough, but we will work together as a team.”
