The Wrigley’s Extra City Netball tournament is using its platform to promote diversity.
City Netters Netball Club secretary Rakcha Chand said this was the first time they were hosting a tournament such as this.
She said they wanted to get everyone interested in netball to gain exposure to playing the sport.
“It’s all about supporting participating teams and having a good time,” she said.
“We are grateful to our sponsors which are Wrigley’s Extra and supported by Motibhai.
“This one-day competition will set the platform for us to host it in another two or three months’ time.
“We just want the teams to benefit from this and at the same time enjoy themselves.”
She adds this one-day tournament is the best way for team bonding on businesses houses and a platform for netball clubs to come and test their teams out before the season begins.
A total of seven teams competed in the open category and nine teams in the mixed category.
