Damodar City was a sea of colours as thousands of people from all walks of life gathered to celebrate Holi, the festival of colours, at the Fijian Broadcasting Corporation Mirchi FM and Radio Fiji 2 non-stop Holi Masti celebration.
FBC events manager Shivneel Maharaj says the entire purpose of this event was to bring Fijians of all backgrounds together to celebrate Holi in togetherness, something that reflects the true Fijian spirit.
He said more than 10,000 people gathered at the Damodar City complex car park to celebrate the festival of colours.
“We have a big crowd, I was surprised to see some Chinese and European people here,” Mr Maharaj said.
“I am looking forward to having this event yearly and make it bigger and better every year.”
Div Damodar CEO of Damodar Group said he was grateful to witness such a turnout. “We are very grateful for this event,” he said.
“It’s a calendar event and every year we find it is getting bigger and bigger. “It is encouraging to witness a multicultural crowd and it is true testimony to Fijians embrace each others culture.”
The event saw cultural performances from religious groups and included a foam party.
