FRANCE-bound Alivereti Raka is hopeful of a good outing in next weekend’s Bayleys Coral Coast 7s tournament at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
The Tovolea 7s rover scored two tries in the final to help his side won the Coastal Great 8 7s tournament yesterday.
Raka said his aim was to help his team do well and stamp his mark in the 7s code before departing for rugby attachment with Clermont Rugby in France.
“Firstly I am proud with our win today,” he said.
“The challenge now is to help my teammates do well in next week’s Coral Coast 7s before I leave for Clermont.
“I know there are many talented players that will want to convince the Fiji 7s coach for a spot in the Fiji team for Dubai but for me my focus is to help Tovolea do well at the Coral Coast 7s.”
Meanwhile, current and former Vodafone national 7s reps were in top form during the two-day Coastal Great 8 7s tournament at Lawaqa Park yesterday.
Big names such as Setefano Cakau, Jasa Veremalua,Vatemo Ravouvou, Waisea Nacuqu, Leo Naikasau, Livai Ikanikoda and Niko Verekauta showed their class and talents in their aim to be part of the national 7s team to Dubai.
