Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Mick Byrne says consistency in attack and defence is a vital factor as they prepare for their next match against the NSW Waratahs in the Shop N Save Super Pacific season.
“The Waratahs are a very physical team and we will need to be on our guard at all times to counter their attacks,” he said.
After a spectacular performance against the Moana Pacifika last weekend, Byrne said he was impressed to see how quickly his players shifted their focus from celebration mode to their next match.
“They know the Tahs are one of the big teams in the competition, and this is where the boys will need to be performing throughout the game.”
During a Zoom interview Byrne said this week’s training was all about sharpening skills in certain areas where it was needed most.
“We’ve been looking at our last game with the Tahs and just taking notes and tips on how we can better counter them this time.”
According to Bryne, the Drua line-up will be named today at 1pm where he says not many changes will be done to the team.
“Fans can expect a similar team to the one that played against Moana Pacific.”
