Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) CEO Kamal Prasad has verified that plans for a proposed four-lane structure in Lami (Suvavou bridge) will actually be a two-lane bridge.

Responding to queries from this newspaper, Mr Prasad said the project was planned to begin in mid-2024.

“This is part of our 40 critical bridge replacement program,” he said.

“The bridge will not cut through Tikaram Park. It will be on the upstream side without affecting the park.”

Mr Prasad said the project would create a lot of employment opportunities during construction and that costs for the proposed plan would be available after the design was finalised.
