The National Federation Party and FijiFirst have successfully submitted the names of all their 55 proposed candidates to the Fijian Elections Office yesterday.

Earlier in the day the Social Democratic Liberal Party filed the names of the party’s 53 provisional candidates, and party leader said they were looking at an absolute majority.

Mr Gavoka says his party was ready to win and govern.

“We have selected the best team of SODELPA warriors who will win this election and form your next government,” he said.

“I’m very confident and excited to submit SODELPA’s 53 candidates who will fight to win the right to serve you and take Fiji forward with you. We will maintain our stance on the ideals of our founding principles and we will never compromise our cooperative ideologies. With an absolute majority, we look forward to serving you.”

Mr Gavoka said it was up to the people to make a change for a better future.

“SODELPA calls on our people to make the decisive action for change and vote for a better, brighter future. We shall take to recover our freedom, truth and justice, fairness and equality, respect of human rights, the rights of indigenous people of this nation and the rights of all citizens.”

Meanwhile, The People’s Alliance party general secretary Sakiasi Ditoka said the party would file its nominations at a later date because of some formatting issues raised by the Supervisor of Election yesterday.
