Customers at McDonald’s Nadi can now order and pay for their food in one go, using a simple self-service touch screen system linked to ANZ’s POSgate, in the hope of making the customer’s wait time significantly shorter.

The POSgate is a simple and flexible point of sale tool that integrates a business’ point of sale system with the bank’s EFTPOS terminals.

In a first for the Pacific, these self-service counters should make it faster and more efficient for McDonald’s and their customers to get their meals, by integrating orders and payments in one place – and all at the customers’ fingertips.

McDonald’s Fiji managing director Marc McElrath said: “This technology will now lead into more advances with online ordering and app payment loyalty platforms throughout Fiji and the Pacific.

POSgate will be game changer for many businesses in Fiji and ANZ have worked hard to get this working here.”

ANZ Fiji country head Rabih Yazbek said: “We’re pleased to help McDonald’s deliver a world-class dining and shopping experience to their customers. We’re looking forward to rolling out this technology to other McDonald’s outlets across Fiji, as well as other commercial customers with retail operations.”
