Australia-based Vanisha Kumar has joined the national women’s side ahead of the Pacific Four Nations tournament.

Kumar joined the team in Sydney on Saturday.

Meanwhile, another overseas-based player Timaima Vuniyayawa will not be part of the team for this tournament. Vuniyayawa, who was named in the team, had to pull out due to commitments.

“She had work commitments which forced her to pull out from the team,” said team manager Susan Wise.

Wise added that Kumar’s inclusion will boost the team upfront.

“Vanisha played for us at the Pacific Nations Cup and really impressed. We are hoping she can lift her performance to another level in this tournament.”

Luisa Tamanitoakula, Cema Nasau, Liza Hussein, Sofi Diyalowai and Kolet Likuculacula are some experienced names which will lead the Fijian side.
