The Fiji Bati returned to the team base in Hull after recording its first win at the Rugby League World Cup in the UK.

The side beat Italy handsomely and will now need to put up a similar performance to overcome Scotland and get its mission of qualifying for its first final appearance back on track.

Against Italy the side won the game off its offload play – making 22 passes in play to catch the Azzurri off guard.

The side completed 30 sets, with nine incomplete an improvement from the loss against Australia.

One area it will need to work on is discipline after conceding five penalties — two more than Italy.

Another is the high error count — 10 to Italy’s nine.

For now the team will celebrate the win and fix the little stuff ahead of the Scotland match at Kingston Park in Newcastle on Saturday (Sunday Fiji time).
