Vodafone is trialling a M-PAiSA Mastercard that would allow users to make local and international payments and purchase online through ecommerce platforms.
Speaking at the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North, the company’s head of eCommerce and Digital Financial Services Shailendra Prasad said users could pay to platforms such as the Amazon or subscribe to online entertainment channels such as Netflix.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to reflect on the work of our team at Vodafone Fiji, working to ensure that there was connectivity throughout the subdued COVID environment,” he said.
“Additionally, I want to point out that our teams have worked round the clock to ensure continuity of business during the two years so people could work from home and most importantly to enable contactless payments via our M-PAiSA platform.”
With an enduring commitment to delivering the latest in mobile technology, Mr Prasad said they have always placed their love for the Vanua and the people at the centre of whatever they do.
“It is this genuine love for community and the people that drives our commitment to sponsorship of community-oriented events such the FOFN, sports and other charitable events across the country.”
