COVID-19: Fiji reports eight new cases

Fiji has reported eight new cases of COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services says of the eight cases, four were recorded in the Central Division, three cases in the Western Division and one case reported in the North.

No case was recorded in the Eastern Division.

According to the ministry, in the seven days until September 21, four new cases were recorded in the Central Division, three new cases in the Western Division and one case in the Northern Division.

The Central Division cases constitute 65 per cent of the cumulative total cases nationally, with the Western Division making up 28 per cent, 4 per cent in the Northern Division, and 2 per cent in the Eastern Division.

No death was reported.

There have been 177 deaths recorded since December 2021, and there has been 878 deaths due to COVID-19 in Fiji.
