Former scholars, parents, students and stakeholders of Lelean Memorial School (LMS) gathered at Syria Park in Nausori for three days to celebrate Lelean Day.
The festivities commenced on Thursday with the aim of raising funds for the development of the school facilities.
Organisers have set a financial target of $100,000, and Principal Mohammed Feroz said it took a lot of planning and preparations to get the event underway.
He was thankful to everyone involved.
“Lelean is a big school,” Mr Feroz said.
He said the funds raised would be used for renovations, amongst other things.
“We have girls and boys hostel, dining room, and teachers’ quarters so it is good to have this kind of event because the ministry fund that comes is for teaching and learning resources.
“Our preparations started at the beginning of the term and the parents knew what to contribute when Lelean Day comes.”
The event ended today.
