A London-based businessman has promised to bring franchises like Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Pizza Hut and Taco Bell to Fiji.
Hamid Ali, a former Fiji resident now resides in London and is the director of Great Pacific Hotels.
He was in Fiji last week to launch his latest business venture in Nadi, the 18 Degrees Mineral Water Fiji.
“We have established ourselves as a huge QSR (quick service restaurant) business. That is KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Benihana and various different brands like Island Pokies,” he said on Saturday in Nadi.
“We are a very diversified group and I am the chairman and CEO of the group of companies.
“We have investments in Singapore, Malaysia, Netherlands, Morocco and the US.”
He said being born in Fiji, he thought to return home after all these years and “start investing under the leadership of, I call him Frank, our Prime Minister and his whole team of ministers”.
“We think Fiji is a great place to invest and that’s why we’ve diversified in all different sectors.
“We’ll soon be bringing KFC, Taco Bell and all the other brands here as well to create jobs for our locals.”
