Birmingham 2022: Seipua placed ninth in debut Games

Fijian weightlifter Helen Siepua had a ninth place finish in the women’s 87kg+ category at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The 20-year-old, taking part in her first games, had a lift of 85kg in the snatch before clearing 108kg in the clean and jerk category.

She had a combined total weight of 193kg.

Emily Campbell from Canada took out the gold medal while Feagaiga Stowers won a silver medal for Samoa.

Siepua’s event brought a close to weightlifting for Fijian lifters at this year’s games.
