The Fiji 7s side will go back to the drawing board to rectify its errors and prepare for the Rugby World Cup 7s in South Africa in a month’s time.

Speaking after the 31-7 loss to South Africa in the final of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in England, Tuwai said the team could not win everything.

“We came here with an aim to win but unfortunately we can’t be winning everything. We had a good tournament but in the final South Africa was a better side,” Tuwai said.

He thanked his players for a good tournament.

“Hats off to the boys. We had some injuries in the tournament and the other players in the squad really stood up. We will now get back to the board and prepare for the Rugby World Cup which is another important tournament for us.”

When asked if he had any plans to retire this year, the double Olympic gold medallist says he will play for Fiji until he could not run.

“I’ll keep on playing. Maybe another year, or two years or three years, I don’t know till when. I’ll play until I can’t run and I’ll let Gd decide when I should stop.”

Tuwai and the team return on Tuesday. They will spend two days with families at home before joining camp in preparation for the Los Angeles 7s.
