There are only four days to go before entries for the Domo Vou Talei original song contest will come to a close.

The competition is a brainchild of the Australian High Commission, in partnership with The Fiji Times, Westpac, Communications Fiji Ltd, Fiji Performing Rights Association (FPRA) and Knox Entertainment.

Australian High Commission First Secretary Political Malcolm Paterson said so far they had received 45 entries with a good mix of hip-hop, gospel, reggae, pop, country and vude tracks in English, iTaukei and Hindi.

“Entries from Sigatoka, Savusavu, Suva and even one from Africa had to be declined because competition is only open to Fijians living in Fiji,” he said.

Mr Paterson said the excitement leading up to the Domo Vou Talei Competition finalists announcement was building up.

Producers for the original tracks will be renowned composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Phil Dakei of Makare fame and Adriu Saranuku.

Judges will short list the 10 finalists next Wednesday and Thursday with the announcement of the finalists to be done next Friday.

The ten finalists will get a chance to perform their original song at the Uprising Music Festival on Music Festival on July 9.

Details on how to enter the competition can be found on the Communications Fiji Ltd (CFL) website — https://fijivillage.com/domovoutalei.

Entries for the Domo Vou Talei Competition will close next week Tuesday.

The Fiji Times is giving $5000 for the winner.
