Taveuni islanders Dominion Brothers 7s team has set the pace and intensity in the race for the $5000 main prize in the 2nd Fiji Bitter Malomalo 7s tournament at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka after scoring the highest score so far in this morning’s pool proceedings.
Dominion Brothers were sleek in their attack while running in seven converted tries against Nukucagina of Volivoli Village in Nadroga.
Domiion Brothers won 35-5.
Fiji Barbarians, with the return of Japan Olympics gold medallist Napolioni Bolaca from the Fijian Drua Super Rugby Pacific and veterans Semi Kunatani and Vatemo Ravouvou, also thrashed Malomalo team 35-5.
The Fiji team is playing as guests of the tournament while preparing for the Toulouse 7s in France in the next leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series.
Defending champion Army Green beat Red Wing, made up of Tabadamu players, 21-15.
