After a lapse of one year, people got the chance to gather in large numbers to witness the annual firewalking ceremony at Bhagwati Temple in Korociri, Nausori on Sunday.
Temple treasurer Narayan Murti said they were excited to host their annual event after one year.
“Last year, because of the restrictions, we were only able to do a small prayer session but we were very happy to have this event on a large scale this year,” he said.
He said people’s support over the week showed they were eagerly waiting for the firewalking ceremony.
In order to preserve the culture of firewalking, he said they had a youth group who were looking after the temple.
Temple priest Govindan Murti said they were very happy to be able to host the fire walking ceremony.
