New Zealand Foreign Affairs Minister Nanaia Mahuta will be in the country this week to hold talks with her Fijian counterparts.

Ms Mahuta will arrive in the country today and will return on Thursday, March 31.

The visit will allow her to discuss and strengthen further opportunities for Aotearoa to work alongside Fiji.

Ms Mahuta is looking forward to engaging with her Fijian partners in person and would be reaffirming the close links that already exist between the two countries.

While in Fiji, Ms Mahuta will meet with Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

She will also attend an event at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and would be participating in a Fijian women leaders roundtable.

Ms Mahuta is also expected to visit some development projects in the country.
