A trough of low pressure lies just to the north of Fiji.
According to the weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi this afternoon it is expected to gradually drift south and affect parts of the country from Tuesday.
The forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group, expect cloudy periods with some showers and afternoon thunderstorms over the greater Suva, Nausori and Tailevu area, Cakudrove province and the northeastern parts of Macuata province.
Fine apart from brief showers over the Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and Yasawa and Mamanuca group.
Fine apart from isolated afternoon and evening showers and possible thunderstorms elsewhere.
Moderate southeast winds and moderate seas.
The outlook for Tuesday, expect showers becoming frequent over Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Kadavu, Lau, Lomaiviti and Yasawa group.
Some showers and afternoon thunderstorms over the greater Suva, Nausori and Tailevu area.
Afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms elsewhere.
