There are 300 schools that want to enrol children with disability, said Minister of Education Premila Kumar.

She made the comment during the launch of the “I See Love in Your Eyes” program at the Fiji School for the Blind on Thursday.

Mrs Kumar said it was good news because it was hard to convince the teachers and heads of schools to take in people with disabilities.

“Now they are willing to do that,” she said.

“The Fijian Government encourages normal schools to take people with disability and we offer disability allowances per child.”

According to Mrs Kumar, the Fijian Government has spent $90million on providing allowances to families of children with disabilities.
