The Bula Boys have won their opening match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Oceania Qualifiers defeating New Caledonia 2-1 in Qatar this morning.
Sairusi Nalaubu, on debut for Fiji, gave them a great start with a goal in the early minutes as Fiji led 1-nil at halftime.
New Caledonia equalised in the second spell.
Just when it looked like the match will end in a draw, Nalaubu found the back of the net a minute from full time giving Fiji the win.
Fiji’s next match is against New Zealand at 5am on Tuesday.
