Motorists have been discouraged from travelling into Nadi Town as floodwaters continue to rise.

Police officers have also been stationed at major entry points into the flood-prone areas to monitor the movements of people.

There was also a rush to stock up on supplies around midday yesterday.

Today, the Fiji Roads Authority also advised that the new Denarau bypass is closed to all traffic because of flooding.

Those who need assistance in moving to their nearest evacuation centres are advised to contact the National Fire Authority on 910 or Police on 917.
