Hair grooming chain Supercuts Barbershop opened its seventh outlet in the country, the latest branch opened today in Lautoka.

Specialised in men’s hairdressing, owner Faizal Hussain operates six outlets in Suva, and now in total employs 30 staff.

In opening the outlet at his hometown, Minister for Commerce and Trade Faiyaz Koya commended Mr Hussain’s focus and resilience, and becoming a job creator than a seeker.

“Today, I want to thank Faizal, for transitioning from a job seeker to a job creator – I congratulate you for creating full-time employment for thirty staff, and continuing to offer more opportunities to other young Fijians through upcoming outlets planned for Suva and Nadi,” Mr Koya said.

“I must commend the team of Supercuts Barbershop for raising the bar in men’s hairdressing, under the good guidance of their owner, and his seventeen years of experience.

“From Faizal’s success, we can learn a simple lesson – a lesson, that it is rewarding to be industrious, it is rewarding to be humble and most importantly, it is rewarding to be committed to achieving your dreams.”

Mr Hussain is originally from Seaqaqa in Macuata, and he worked in the cane fields before moving to Suva in search of better opportunities in life.

He began as a short stint to learn the ropes of cutting hair for nine months, which turned into an eight-year career.
