Normal passenger flights to Vanua Levu will resume once authorities give it the all clear.

The clarification from Fiji Link follows queries from members of the public about normal flights to the North after the easing of border restrictions on Viti Levu.

Members of the business community and hoteliers are hoping that travelling to Vanua Levu would ease soon so business could oprate as in the pre-COVID period.

However, Fiji Link said normal passenger flights would only happen when authorities give the green light.

“Fiji Link flights to Vanua Levu and Taveuni as well as other domestic airports can only resume once the authorities allow for reasonably unrestricted travel,” the company said.

“We understand this can only happen following adequate levels of full vaccination coverage, and it’s a position Fiji Link supports.”
