Licia Susuwai isn’t wasting her time while staying at home as schools remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her parents have bought a new laptop so that she can study at home while waiting for the schools to re-open.
The 13-year-old is in Year 8 at Draunivi Public School in Rakiraki. Susuwai also has to tutor her younger brother Isikeli Nayate who is in Year 5.
Her dad Ratu Orisi Navukula, a machine operator at Fiji Water, also invested in a Wi-Fi system at home to log onto the internet to find learning materials.
Their mother Adi Nanise Tabua Natusoro Tokalauvere, who stays at home, ensures the children study daily.
Both parents have always been supportive of their children’s education. Susuwai says her ambition is to become a flight attendant when she finishes her studies.
