After being out of business for close to one month, an auto repair garage in Lautoka has welcomed its first customers this week.

Dai-Ichi West Company Ltd manager Zaim Ali said while they were happy to be back in business, the safety of their staff and customers remained a high priority.

“We were considered a support business for essential workers so we reopened a couple of days ago but because we still have to maintain our strict COVID rules some of our staff have been working from home,” he said.

“Apart from that our customers have to follow all of our COVID safe measures that were imposed by the Ministry of Health like wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and having the CareFiji app on.

“Its very important to us that our staff and our customers follow these measures because it will ensure everyone’s safety.”

He said the business was visited by police officers on Monday to review their COVID-19 safe measures.

“We have to be vigilant because of what is at stake. The health of our people are at risk if we don’t exercise these measures.”
