A coastal flood alert is in force for the coastal areas of the southern parts of Viti Levu.

These include areas from Natadola through to Coral Coast to Pacific Harbour to Suva; southern coastal areas of Mamanuca group, Beqa, Kadavu, Vatulele, Moala group, Lomaiviti group and the southern Lau group.

The Fiji Meteorological Service in Nadi has also reiterated its damaging heavy swell warning that remains in force for Mamanuca waters, southwest Viti Levu waters, Kadavu passage, southern Koro Sea and southern Lau waters.

The weatherman says there is a deep low pressure system to the far Southwest of the country that continues to generate and direct moderate to damaging heavy southerly swells over Fiji waters.

Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure to the west approaches Fiji with associated cloud and showers that continue to affect the country.

It is expected to clear the group later tomorrow.
