A mother of six who was stranded in Suva for two weeks was finally reunited with her family members yesterday.

Ivamere Marama, after giving birth to her newborn at the CWM Hospital in Suva, could not return to her family because of the imposed travel restrictions by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

Today, Ms Marama and the family will have a double celebration, both Mother’s Day and the birth of their new family member.

Ms Marama could not contain her emotions at the Sawani border yesterday after she was given the green light by police to pass through the checkpoint to meet her family.
