JEREMIAH Raibevu College sprinter Jone Tuiwaiwai aims to do his school and family proud at next week’s Coca-Cola Games Suva Zone One meet.

The 17-year-old Year 11 student from Naqara Village, on Ono, Kadavu took out the blue ribbon event during the school’s inter-house meet at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

“Our school is still a very new school and I just want to do them proud,” Tuiwaiwai said.

Tuiwaiwai said he still had dreams of representing the school at the biggest athletics meet in the country, the Coca-Cola Games.

“I want to work hard and represent Jeremiah Raibevu at the Coca-Cola Games this year.”

Tuiwaiwai said he was preparing hard to prepare himself for the inter-house and now that he had accomplished one mission, he who would turn his focus to the zone.

“It’s easy to say that I want to go to the Coca-Cola Games but I have to double my work if I want to get there and that is something I am prepared to do.

“The competition only gets stronger from the zone, so there is no time to muck about.

“I know the teachers will be pushing me and my teammates to do our best and all we can do is give our best.” Tuiwaiwai dedicated his win to his family back home in Kadavu.

“They always support me when they are here, as they don’t get a chance to watch me, all I can do is give 100 per cent and hopefully they will be proud of me.”
