When the Flying Fijians towering lock forward Temo Mayanavanua runs on to BT Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, Scotland tomorrow, he knows he won’t be there alone.
Apart from the thousands of rugby-mad Fijian fans across the globe, the cheers from his family at home in Cunningham, Suva will take the youngster through only his second game in the white jersey.
The 22-year-old will make his debut for Fiji alongside flankers Johnny Dyer and Mesulame Kunavula.
New faces Tevita Ikanivere, Haereiti Hatet, Samuela Tawake, Chris Minimbi, Manueli Ratuniyarawa and Simione Kuruvoli are included on the bench.
Mayanavanua said while there was no denying the disappointment of forfeiting games against France, Scotland and Italy, the time in quarantine took their bonding to a whole new level.
He said they take on Georgia on Sunday renewed, invigorated and ready to show the world that they are no pushover.
