The European Union funded Yadrayadravi Accountability and Monitoring Project in Cakaudrove has been a described as a successful implementation.
The project, spearheaded by ADRA (Adventist Development & Relief Agency) since 2018 ended its three year term yesterday with more than 100 district and community reps gathered in Savusavu at the Hot Springs Hotel for the occasion.
EU Head of Cooperation, Michal Krejza said they contributed $1.8million towards this project in Cakaudrove.
“It has been three years of working closely with the people at grassroots level to strengthen capacities of local CSO’s, communities and the iTaukei Affairs Trust Board (ITAB) to support governance and accountability systems at local and national levels.”
Vuna district rep Laisiasa Tumauta said the project also developed partnership between ADRA Fiji, Education Ministry and FICAC in advocating for good governance and developing curriculum including skills for attributes of good governance, transparency and accountability for the 13 Secondary Schools in the
province.
