Rewa came from behind to comfortably beat Lautoka 5-3 at Churchill Park in Lautoka today in the last round of the 2020 Vodafone Premier League match.

The hosts scored three quick-fire goals within the first half-hour of the match through Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Malakai Rakula and Samuela Gavo.

The Delta Tigers struck with a Mohammed Naizal stunner in the 35th minute of the first half and the blues led 3-1 at half-time.

Setareki Hughes’ and Tevita Waranivalu’s goals in the first 15 minutes of the second stanza had both the teams locked at 3-3.

Lautoka were pathetic and lacklustre during the entire second-half of the match as a brace of goals by Gabrieli Matanisiga in the last quarter ensured Rewa of an easy victory.

Rewa football team’s head coach Marika Rodu said he was proud of what the team achieved and does not regret of not winning the prestigious league crown.

Southern teams and arch-rivals, Rewa and Suva would represent the country at next year’s Champions League.
