The Kiwis could face a potential revenge match with Fiji in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Rugby League World Cup after two games at Leeds’ Headingley Stadium.
Michael Maguire’s side will open their campaign at Warrington against Lebanon on Sunday October 24.
They then move from their York training base to Leeds, to play World Cup newcomers Jamaica on Saturday October 30, and end the section phase there against Ireland on Friday November 5.
The Kiwi Ferns will play all three of their Women’s World Cup pool games at their York home base, including a final game with Australia, which will decide the top seed for the semifinals.
They will meet France on Wednesday November 10, the Cook Islands on Sunday November 14 and then face a vital clash with arch rivals Australia on Thursday November 18.
All games will be played at York’s LNER Community Stadium.
The Kiwis will – if they top Group C, as expected – play the Group B runner- up in a quarterfinal at Hull, on Saturday November 13.
Group B features champions Australia, 2017 semifinalists Fiji, Scotland and Italy.
Australia are expected to top that group, meaning Fiji – semifinalists at the last three tournaments – could make the last-eight as runners-up.
Fiji knocked out the Kiwis, 4-2, in a try-less quarterfinal in Wellington in 2017.
The 2021 semifinals will be held on November 19-20 at Leeds’ Headingley ground and Emirates Stadium in London, home ground of the Arsenal football club.
The women’s semifinals will be held in York, with the final held before the men’s title decider at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium on November 27.
Rugby League World Cup chief executive Jon Dutton has said this could be the best tournament since the competition began in 1954.
“I think this could be a transformative moment,” he told BBC Sport.
“Every minute of every game is live on the BBC domestically, and there’s the opportunity to project that on a global stage, the opportunity to have some new nations and new continents.”
Dutton said 2021 was a chance to build on the successful 2017 World Cup held in the southern hemisphere.
“The World Cup has had a chequered history but a wonderful heritage to celebrate,” he said.
“2013 here in the UK put it on the map in terms of a ‘grown-up’ World Cup, and 2017 took it a step further.
“We are hopefully going to take it to the next level with all three tournaments [men’s, women’s and wheelchair].’’
