Air Terminal Services is terminating 285 employees today.
The company says this is a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘There is significant uncertainty around the return of commercial flights at Nadi International Airport. ATS does not expect to see a return to pre COVID-19 level of operations in the foreseeable future,” said ATS Chief Executive Officer Hare Mani.
“ATS is now in the unfortunate position of being unable to fulfil contracts of employment.”
On Wednesday this week, the ATS Board of Directors approved management to implement termination employment contracts.
“The Company notes that this was a very difficult decision to make, and one only made after exhausting all other options.”
