WAF workers discharged

A year after being arrested and charged for unlawful assembly, 29 Water Authority of Fiji workers from Lautoka have been discharged by the Magistrates Court.

Appearing before Magistrate Sekonaia Vodokisolomone, the WAF employees were officially discharged after representations were made by defence counsel Mark Anthony to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

According to Mr Anthony, the charges were dropped for all 29 workers who were charged for allegedly gathering in Lautoka on April 30.
