“I know that everyone is disappointed with our performance but Fiji will rise again. I hope everyone will accept us.”
This was what World Rugby Men’s Sevens Player of the Year and former national team captain Jerry Tuwai said during the Kombat Rugby/Tanoa International Hotel supporting grassroots program function in Nadi yesterday afternoon.
Tuwai, who turns 30 later this month, said he was aware that everyone was disappointed with Fiji’s result in Los Angeles and Vancouver.
“On behalf of myself and the boys, I would like to apologise for the poor performance in LA and Vancouver,” Tuwai said.
The HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series heads to Europe next with the London 7s from May 23-24 followed by the Paris 7s from May 30-31.
