WHEN Salome Ratuniyarawa travelled from Sigatoka to visit her best friend Paulyn Roberta in Nadi after five years, she did not know the reunion would be a “life-changing” moment.
The duo were forced to draw on their maternal instincts and skills after a pregnant neighbour’s baby decided to enter the world early.
When emergency numbers failed to elicit a response, the best friends helped deliver Iliana Navunitabua’s baby boy inside her Legalega, Nadi, home.
Paulyn said the experience would forever be engraved in the depths of their hearts.
