Members of the Fiji Performing Right Association (FPRA) Limited raised $7642.54 during the Australia bushfire appeal concert that was held at Sukuna Park late last month.

Concert coordinator and musician Seru Serevi said the association was pleased to see the response from members of the general public.

“Kids came with their parents and we received donations from as low as $0.10 cents,” Serevi said.

“It was heartwarming to see the gratitude we Fijians have for Australia. They are one of the first ones to help when Fiji is in problem.”

He also acknowledged the presence of the Australian High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes at the event.

Serevi said Mr Feakes had given them names of five organisations to who the money could be donated.

“We have been given five names. Out of these, we will sit and discuss to whom the money will be handed over to, and this will be done in the coming days,” he added.
