THE Ministry of Education has scrapped the position of deputy permanent secretary primary/secondary.

The incumbent holding that post, Timoci Bure, has been appointed the head of national education service delivery unit.

Education Minister Rosy Akbar told The Fiji Times this was part of a restructure.

“The ministry is undergoing a restructure and his position is part of the restructure,” she said.

“The DSPS is scrapped and this is the new position.”

When asked about the role and responsibilities of Mr Bure, Ms Akbar said “we should be able to forward you his job description. I don’t have it at the back of my mind”.

Mr Bure referred all questions to the acting permanent secretary when approached for comments.
